John F. Kennedy School Berlin

US Embassy

Welcome to the John F. Kennedy School!

Congratulations on your posting to Berlin! We believe that you will find Germany’s capital to be an exciting and rewarding experience.

There is a long-standing special relationship between the John F. Kennedy School and the United States. The school was founded as a joint project of the U.S. Army and the City of Berlin more than 65 years ago.

As part of our bilingual, bicultural mission, we provide an education that aligns closely with schools in the United States. This includes A.P. courses at the high school level and the granting of an American high school diploma. While maintaining American standards through our accreditation by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, we simultaneously introduce your children to the rich culture and language of our host country.

Our school provides a familiar American-style education while offering a wide range of extracurricular activities through the JFK Sports Club, music and drama, scouting programs, Model UN, and Odyssey of the Mind. Many of these activities take place on campus, giving students opportunities to learn, compete, and engage year-round.

If you have any questions or need assistance before or after enrollment, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Your children have guaranteed admission, regardless of your arrival date.

Our Model United Nations (MUN) program provides students with the opportunity to engage in international diplomacy, debate, and collaborative problem-solving through a simulation of the United Nations. By participating in MUN, students strengthen their public speaking, leadership, research, and critical-thinking skills while gaining a deeper understanding of global challenges. JFKS hosts two conferences each year, bringing together over 850 students who take on a variety of roles, including delegates, student officers,  technology support, administrative and press teams.
